Happy Monday, everyone! I had an incredibly busy and productive weekend, with all sorts of antique related shenanigans going on. For starters, I visited "Me Again", my not-so-secret source for flea market goods, and discovered that Sue, the owner, had purchased a collection of 1,000 salt and pepper shakers! I didn't realize how badly I needed salt and pepper shakers until I saw all of the gleaming little gems sprinkled over Sue's shelves. I spent quite some time selecting the best examples, then went back the next day and bought more!
I have yet to unwrap all my new acquisitions, so I photographed just a smattering of what I purchased. This was a great collection, and almost everything was in excellent condition. I didn't forget my mom, who sells antiques in Naples, Florida at Up For Grabs, a high end consignment shop. Vintage Florida kitsch is always a good seller, so here are a couple examples of what I found for her:
After looking at so many S & P sets, I have to say that the Japanese were really cranking them out about 60 years ago. They must have thought Americans were obsessed with condiments!
I think the big bird is for sugar:
I love this little set that looks like a basket full of flowers:
Swim suit weather is right around the corner, I keep telling myself. I am compiling some collections of "cheesecake" bathing beauty postcards to sell in my Etsy shop. I love these old photos....the strange poses, the modest swimsuits, and the1950's hairdos. These might have been considered a bit risque in their day. Can you imagine going back in time and handing one of these gals a thong and suggesting a pierced belly button? They would surely faint!
I'm a self proclaimed "extreme coffee lover". This little cup and saucer necklace is a fun reminder of my favorite vice. I've made a couple of these so I can sell some to other coffee addicts:
Recently I've had two more large non-Etsy wholesale orders for my wallpaper cuff bracelets. They are so much fun to make, and seem to be selling well. There's nothing more satisfying than making something with my own hands that someone finds appealing (and wants to buy). Here are some papers I've cut for future cuff bracelets:
My model can be a real cut-up on the weekends:
My vintage costume jewelry magnets in sets of three sold well on Etsy, so now I thought I'd try a set of seven and include an old tin ceiling tile with them. I think this would make a nice gift for someone, don't you?
The tin tile could be used for some sort of crafty project too:
Now this is a good picture, if I do say so myself! I created this bracelet with the finest hand carved Victorian-era mother of pearl buttons from my collection and a few newer cabochons for color:
My picker purchased a box full of vintage talcum powder tins and cold cream jars, which I love. Here are a few examples:
A few more items my picker found. I love these milk glass jars for creams and potions. They would be cute with embellishments on the lids.....
So, that's what I've thrown together for early March. I have plenty to keep me busy. What have you been working on this month?
Love all of those things!!!

My mom would like to know about how much per set you'll be selling the salt and pepper shakers for? She likes the squirrels, coconut tree, and the alligators. Which booth do you think you'll put them in? I don't know if you know all this yet, haha, but I thought i'd ask for her. Mothers day is coming up too..soooo...(o:

So much prettiness here I don't know where to begin! The bracelet is particularly lovely, and the old dresser jars are great. I'm not a big S&P collector myself, but I buy them whenever I see them because they sell so well at the antique mall - must be that they're an affordable bit of whimsy. You've got some great ones here.

Good grief! You must have been "throwing things" 24/7!
All very pretty and fun...especially the birdies with the big bird. Love the colors.

I have been looking for some unique salt and pepper shakers for awhile.Love and hugs fit the bill perfectly! They are just the right size, about 3 inches high. Not only are they absolutely adorable, it's totally easy to see which is salt and which is pepper. They are cute without being over the top cutesy. I am extremely happy with them!
